About
GEreports.com is a simple, no-frills-way of communicating what’s happening at GE. Our goal is to be a resource for people who are interested in learning more about GE.
This Web site and our companion YouTube channel, www.youtube.com/gereports, offer photos and videos, news and human interest stories, viewpoints on important issues, and corrections and clarifications to the public record regarding our company.
Who we are:
The GEreports.com team is made up of seven communicators at GE:
Gary Sheffer – “The boss”
Gary is a marathon-running father of four who consumes an enormous amount of news daily. Coming from a journalism background, Gary has been in communications for 26 years and at GE for nine. Gary graduated from Siena College with a degree in English. |
Jen Walsh – “The Web expert”
For as long as she can remember, Jen has worked in electronic media. She graduated from the Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern University two years after the Epson computers replaced the Underwood typewriters in her news writing class. When Jen’s not working, she’s at home on her farm with her husband and children chasing after three adventurous llamas and one happy-go-lucky dog. |
Sean Gannon – “The media guy”
As managing editor, Sean corrals stories from across the great GE range. Although he has a corporate communications background, he’s also notched his belt at The New York Post, Fox News, Star magazine and The Charleston Gazette, where he broke the story about the I-64 truck stop that featured one pound of bacon on every BLT. In his free time, he introduces his 8-year-old to the important things in life, like Mel Brooks movies. |
Vivek Kemp – “The reporter”
Vivek got his start in news at Columbia’s Graduate School of Journalism. After graduating, he took a post as a features reporter for a mid-sized paper in southern Florida, profiling a wide array of characters, including a voodoo priest and Eartha Kitt. He jumped from print to broadcast, when he became an assignment editor for NBC News. He is also a trained balloon artist (hats, pigs, elephants…you name it, he makes it). |
Lisa Lanspery – “The storyteller”
Lisa has been an avid Internet user since the early 1990s and familiar with the computing industry (OK, Atari) since the early 1980s. She is a working mother of a little princess. In her spare time, Lisa likes to go window shopping, drink a good glass of wine and eat lasagna. She graduated from Ohio University’s E.W. Scripps School of Journalism. |
Megan Parker – “The enthusiast”
Megan is a communicator, an avid baker and a true NY Yankees fan. In high school she came to the harsh realization that she would not be a professional athlete or a Broadway star, so communications seemed an appropriate alternative. Megan is the eighth member of her family to graduate from Syracuse University, where she studied public relations and policy studies. |
Mike Eisenreich – “The techy”
Mike spends most of his time on the Internet and his Blackberry. He has had a passion for the Web since he built his first Web site in the mid-90’s. He is a graduate of Penn State’s School of Information Sciences and Technology and can be found most Saturday’s in the Fall cheering on the Nittany Lions. In his free time, he enjoys reading, using power tools, and playing the piano. |
