By the end of last week, when GE Aviation finally bid adieu to the City of Lights, it flew home to the US with $27 billion in freshly-inked engine and service deals. CFM International, the joint venture between GE Aviation and French engine manufacturer Snecma, saw its more fuel-efficient LEAP engine become the de rigueur choice for carriers looking to power their new Airbus A320neo narrow-body planes, with Virgin America, SAS and Air Asia leading the way.
