At his Wednesday press conference during the healthymagination technology showcase in New York, GE Chairman and CEO Jeff Immelt announced the launch of a new 3-year, $25 million program to help increase access to primary care for underserved communities in the US. Joining Jeff on stage was Ulysses Kilgore III, president of the Bedford-Stuyvesant Family Health Center in Brooklyn, NY — one of the first four clinics in the program. In the video below, Ulysses explains the clinic’s work and how the new “Developing Health” initiative can help.
New York City is home to the first four health centers awarded grants as part of the program. Grants totaling one million dollars have been awarded to the Bedford-Stuyvesant clinic; Urban Health Plan, Inc.; Brownsville Multi-Service Family Health Center; and Charles B. Wang Community Health Center.
