Yesterday, GE announced a significant advancement in cancer research with pharmaceutical company Eli Lilly that will allow doctors to visually map large networks of cancer cells for the first time. In the video below, Dr. Richard Gaynor, vice president of cancer research and clinical investigation at Lilly Research Laboratories, explains how it’s all about getting the right cancer drug to the right patient at the right time. “What this technology allows us to do is to understand the signatures of these different cancers so we can treat them better,” he said. “We’re going to be able to individualize therapy based on this breakthrough and that’s very, very exciting.”
