GE Commercial Aviation Services plans to lease up to 25 regional jets from Commercial Aircraft Corp of China Ltd. The deal, valued at $750 million, was signed Nov. 3rd at the China International Aviation & Aerospace Exhibition at Zhuhai Airport in Guangdong Province. This is the first transaction between the two firms. GE is the world’s largest aircraft lessor and the first international lessor of the ARJ21, a 70- to 90-seat regional jet that combines Chinese intellectual property with advanced engines, produced by GE Aviation.

In addition to this order, GE also works closely with the Chinese government as part of the company’s “Imagination Breakthrough” process to develop efficient and effective regional jet engines.
