GE looks to build cleaner, greener refrigerator

GE has submitted a petition to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency as part of the company’s plans to build the first HFC-free household refrigerator to be manufactured and sold in the U.S.

“The fridge for the 21st century must use less energy and run on refrigerants that don’t add to global warming, while meeting all safety standards,” said David Doniger, climate policy director for the Natural Resources Defense Council. “The companies that win will be those that bring these smarter, cleaner, and safer products to market, and build them here in America. GE is taking an important first step to making the use of efficient, low-GWP refrigerants a reality.”

    I have refrigerator model TFH24PR.

The water on the front door works, but is very, very slow slow. It may take 30 seconds or more to fill an 8 ounce glass. The ice door feed works fine Is there a fix for this, if so, what can I do? I am pretty good a repairing things around the house, maybe I can achieve this by myself? Incidently, there is no filter on the fridge, but I installed one below the sink, feeding it to the rfridge. ilter is clean and new.

I have a 25.8 Cu. Ft. French Door Refrigerator, 100649833 and am having MAJOR difficulty with the freezer door/drawer freezing shut and the right arm sticking and not opening once it is frozen. I have tried to defrost, then wipe dry, but it does it again when frozen. I keep the freezer set at “)” as suggested, but it does not help.

What do I do other than have Home Depot send out a repair guy because it is still under warranty??

I have side by side Mod. PSF26PGTB purchased at Home Depot 4-2007. First it was refrigerator would not stay cold enough. After 2 service calls that now works ok. Now the ice maker leaks water into the freezer and I have an ice mountain. The ice maker has been replaced and I don’t think that was the problem. It was still making ice. Also it takes forever to get ice thru the door. You think after spending over 2200.00 for it someone could fix it. Has anyone else had the same problems or did I get a lemon.

    1) I have a white GE side-by-side door and both door handles turned yellow. How to fix it?
    2) I have a built in microwave GE with fan and light over the range and the door handle cracked. Can I replace the door? Does Sears could do the replacement for me with authorized parts?

    Thank you

Your GE customer over 30 years.
