GE sets record on gas pipeline in China

GE Oil & Gas has set an installation record in China by completing more than 2 months ahead of schedule work for compression stations being built for the expansion of the country’s landmark West-to-East Gas Pipeline. The results of this effort will increase the supply of natural gas to Shanghai prior to the upcoming winter season.

China selected GE to provide the gas turbines, compressors and installation services for all 12 new compressor stations being installed along the country’s 4,000-kilometer West-to-East Gas Pipeline. It is the longest pipeline in China and is a key part of the country’s plan to use natural gas for the generation of additional power to help meet the growing demand for energy.
