I hope not to offend anyone of the PI’s but I am wondering why you guys are thinking so small? Einstein’s greatest gift was his imagination, big unobstructed imagination to see thru what we conceive as logical obstacles to a path of success. I believe that is the true essence of “thinking outside of the box”. For example batteries regardless of what the application require recharging. Why not use another power source to generate the required recharge instead of hydrogen, bio diesel, gas or a plug in etc? There is an easier way. Can use this same idea for all commercial vehicles as well. For the electric train may want to consider a car that has modular batter packs each with their own power regeneration system on board that does not require alternate fuel or power sources mentioned above. I know the solution to those limitations and seems like I have to quit GE in order to make my idea a reality. The alternate implementation of a recharging power source is so simple to incorporate I have to chuckle every time I see a engineer talk about a hybrid powered source vehicle that involves a fuel as the other half of the energy power source.
