Really fine article(s). Coal gasification and syn-fuels have been around as viable, Industial-Commercial processes since the late 1930's.
I hope GE will settle on and emphazie hiring-training for their Coal Fluidization projects and Thin-Film Solar production plants. Providing the USA a more competative workforce and Sustainable energy systems.
Certainly they did not pay anything for the technology!
Cheers!

G E is looking ahead. The USA has ample coal resources and when the energy derived from coal is clean, the resources can become a much greater roll in providing energy to the public. Foreign oil is much too expensive.

As a retired GE worker, I am very pleased to see my company still moving higher into 21st century technology. I have heard of OLEDS and IGCC.
I want to encourage Mr Immelt to continue to lead General Electric into more advanced technology.

So, how will the cost of a kwh from this plant compare with the cost of a kwh from a conventional coal plant?...

a)as the plant is being delivered?
b)if it were "upgraded" for CO2 sequestration?
