GE’s 2009 annual meeting of shareowners gets underway in Orlando, Florida on April 22. A live broadcast of the remarks by Chairman and CEO Jeff Immelt and Chief Financial Officer Keith Sherin will be available via a live webcast on GE Reports starting at 10 a.m. Voting results will be posted as they become available.
To highlight just how diverse GE’s business portfolio is, each year the company gathers shareowners in a different city tied to our business units. Orlando was chosen this year because GE employs more than 18,000 people at 14 sites across Florida — which is the home to facilities operated by GE Energy Infrastructure, Technology Infrastructure, Capital, Industrial and NBC Universal.
While in Orlando, Jeff met with students at University High School as he toured their Global Technology Program — and donated $100,000 to the school for computer laboratories. The program is designed to prepare college-bound students interested in technology fields such as modeling and simulation, robotics, engineering, gaming, cognitive sciences and broadband systems.
