At GE, we take great pride in both our commitment to hiring veterans as well as supporting those employees who continue to serve in the military. Today, there are over 11,000 self-identified U.S. veterans employed at GE and many more who served their countries outside the U.S. GE supports these veterans’ continuing military obligations with support programs, including guaranteed healthcare benefits for families while the employee is deployed, salary differential support for deployed employees, and special recognition and support for employees and families during and before deployment. In 2004, GE received the Freedom Award from the U.S. Department of Defense for the support given our employees in the National Guard and Reserves who have been called to active duty.

As we mark Remembrance Day, also known as Armistice Day and Veteran’s Day, GE is proud to showcase its ranking on the 2008 GI Jobs Top 50 Military Friendly Employers list.
We were also featured in a recent article on green jobs for veterans.
