As an active general aviation enthusiast, pilot and aircraft inspector, I applaud GE'S acquisition of Walter and the improvements that went into making the 601 a better engine. My friends in the crop dusting business out west need a reliable, cost efficient engine to deliver during the short spraying season. Nothing like a turbine to replace the aging and difficult to find parts for, old Pratt & Whitney R-985s.
