One of the key themes at GE’s healthymagination technology showcase has been the positive impact that technology can have not just on outcomes, but on the entire patient experience. Whereas yesterday’s “Health by Design” panel discussions centered on the emotional connection made with technology, today we take a look at the way in which it can tackle the stressful waiting that often accompanies an initial diagnosis. As Omar Ishrak, President and CEO of GE Healthcare Systems, explains in the video clip below: “The time frame that’s involved today — simply because the appropriate technology is not in the hands of the appropriate physicians at the right time and the right cost,” creates immense dissatisfaction for patients.
